Bengaluru, 21st November 2023 – Vaaree, a home furnishings, and accessories marketplace for Indian shoppers, has launched its first physical store at Bangalore, Forum South Bangalore Mal. Spanning approximately 1,400 sq ft, the store offers an extensive range of more than 2,000 home and lifestyle essentials, including limited edition products that are not sold on its online marketplace.

Customers will be able to choose from kitchenware, bedding, dining, glassware, furnishings, artificial plants, decor, wall art and even a special Christmas-themed collection of accessories, which have been handpicked by the Vaaree team for their versatility, beauty, workmanship and durability. It features curated lifestyle looks that change each week, inspiring and enabling customers to explore their own personal tastes. Several of its collections, like barware, cast iron cookware, tufted cushion covers, and fitted bedding were sold out in the first week of its opening. Vaaree is currently running a promotion till end December where customers can receive free products of up to ₹2,000 with purchases made in store.

Vaaree carries products from certified, individually vetted manufacturers that have undergone stringent testing for quality assurance, enabling them to provide shoppers with the best of both worlds when it comes to home decor – quality and affordability.

The Vaaree shopping experience aims to help customers rediscover their living spaces, as the founders recognised how people today connect deeply and emotionally to their homes, with a well-designed space being key to holistic well-being.

The company’s story began after co-founders Garima and Varun were building their own homes and faced challenges in sourcing affordable and well-produced home products, with the only options being costly luxury brands or cheaper options that compromise on quality. Vaaree meets a unique gap in a flourishing market, where the growth of post-COVID consumers and first-time millennial home buyers are willing to invest and express their identity through beautiful homes.

Its factory-to-home model helps the company drive logistics and supply chain efficiencies and minimises its spending on advertising and packaging to ensure that prices are kept affordable for customers. With its curated marketplace model, Vaaree aims to be a one-stop shop for all things related to home furnishings, be it cushion covers, bed sheets, throws, dining, kitchen tools or bathrooms.

“Providing customers with a seamless shopping experience, on top of superior, affordable home decor products, has always been our goal. Customers now have the choice of coming down to test out our beautiful pieces for themselves or enjoying the convenience of online purchases. We are committed to helping Indian homeowners curate homes that are not only stylish and functional, but are an extension of their individual unique tastes” said co-founder Garima Luthra.

“Our physical and online stores provide Indian product manufacturers and brands with a platform to showcase their skillfully crafted products to a broader audience in India, and we hope to drive greater appreciation and awareness of made-in-India goods” – said co-founder Pranav Arora.

Based in Bengaluru, Vaaree was founded in February 2022 by Garima Luthra, Pranav Arora, and Varun Vohra. After launching its online marketplace in May 2022, Vaaree’s offering has grown to over 20,000 products on their website and has delivered more than 1,50,000 products to homes across India within a year of operations. The company also recently announced US$4 million in seed funding to accelerate its hiring and product development. It was led by Peak XV’s Surge and included participation from PeerCapital, All In Capital, and Better Capital.

Garima is an alumnus of Punjab University, with extensive sales and marketing experience at start-ups like Blinkit (formerly Grofers), Furlenco, Acko and CRED. Pranav is an alumnus of Punjab Engineering College, co-owned and ran Aaywon Lamitubes and Packaging Solutions for over a decade, an experienced manufacturing and factory management professional. Varun is an alumnus of BITS Pilani, a serial founder who has co-founded, scaled and successfully exited businesses such as; Aknamed (acquired by API Holdings 2021) & Genii (acquired by Practo 2015).
