In the interest of conducting ethical business and providing employment opportunities to the deserved, he started a company called ‘Supriya Lifescience Ltd’ in 1987. Today, with a dedicated focus on primarily providing employment opportunities and growth in the economy, he has been able to provide employment to over 1000 people through the company and the turnover of the company is at a staggered INR 315 Cr. He is building on this focus with the company and have projected to reach a turnover of INR 1000 Cr. within 5 years. The company successfully crossed global borders to 120 countries, harnessing over 2000 customers and building an assorted portfolio of over 40 Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). The company made an outstanding achievement by gaining approval from USA, Europe, Japan, Latin America, Canada, Australia, China, etc. health authorities. Climbing the ladder, we have also placed ourselves as the largest producers of Anti-histamines range in the world, putting Maharashtra and India on the World Map in the Pharmaceutical sector.

Chairman (Over 22 years): CHEMEXCIL(Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council)

CHEMEXCIL was set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, in the year 1963 with the objective of promoting exports of dyes, inorganic and organic chemicals, cosmetics and lubricants among others, to various countries abroad. The Council comprises 4800 members, with exports of around USD 22 billion of chemical items under its purview.

His motive of getting CHEMEXCIL appointed as a nodal agency for ‘REACH Regulation’, was to help member exporters to pre-register and register their products in EU countries. He has also effectively worked to include the reimbursement of 50% of ECHA registration fees to the Chemical exporters that was given only to Pharma based companies. He worked strenuously to provide ‘Product Registration’ for Agro Chemicals and pioneered the Chemical Inventory Program which enhanced the working of the entire Chemical Industry. This program helps track the chemical inventory from beginning to end and addresses all the special issues associated with storing, using, and disposing of hazardous materials.

In the last 3 decades of his career, he has been bestowed with several prestigious awards as mentioned below :

• Felicitated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji during Vibrant Gujarat as Chairman Chemexcil many times.
• Felicitated by Hon’ble President of United State Shri. George Bush during Chemical Weapons Conference in USA.
• National Award for Best R & D – 2010 presented by Hon’ble Pratibha Patil’
• ‘National Award for Best Entrepreneur -2007’ presented by Hon’ble Dr.Manmohan Singh
• ‘National Award for Quality-2003’ presented by Hon’ble Dr.Abdul Kalam
• ‘National Award for Best R & D-1999’ presented by Hon’ble Lalkrushna Advani achievements in small scale sector etc.
• State Award in Year 2017-18 for the Excellent performance of export presented by Hon’ble Shri. Subhash Desai. Minister for Industries and Mining. Government of Maharashtra.
• ‘Regional Award for the year 2000-2001 followed by State Award for Best Performance presented by Hon’ble Dr. Patangrao Kadam’.
• FIEO Niryat Shree Award for Outstanding Export Performance in the category of Chemicals, Drugs, Pharma & Allied Products MSME for the year 2008-09 presented by Shri. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry.
• ‘Best Exporter in Maharashtra’ and ‘Brand Ambassador for MSME’ Award in Year 2016-17 presented by Hon’ble Governor Shri. Vidyasagar Rao in the presence of Shri Subhash Desai, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra, and Shri Deepak Kesarkar, Minister of State for Finance, Rural Development & Planning, Govt. of Maharashtra.
