Hyderabad, June 17th, 2024: Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI) – India`s largest Regional Events Industry Association, is hosting the 3rd Edition of South Indian Wedding Planners Congress – 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024 – Beyond Imagination and the 7th TCEI Event Excellence Awards 2024, on June 14th and 15th, 2024 at the magnificent Hall 4 of Hitex Exhibition Centre. Hyderabad. Over 700 delegates from India and Abroad are participating in this mega event. The Event aims to promote ‘WED IN INDIA’ & ‘WED IN TELANGANA’ initiative to give impetus to the local Eco System and Local Economy.

The grand and the largest congregation of national and international Wedding Planners, was inaugurated by Shri Jupally Krishna Rao, Hon`ble Minister for Tourism, Culture, Excise & Prohibition, Government of Telangana, today at HITEX Exhibition Centre. Guest of Honour Smt K. Nikhila, IAS, Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana, Shri Alla Balaram Babu, President, TCEI, Shri Ravi Bura, General Secretary, TCEI, Shri TG Srikanth, Business Head, Hitex, graced the occasion. The conference brings together experts from various facets of the Indian wedding industry. This event aims to showcase South India’s significant contributions to the world of weddings and provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Shri Jupally Krishna Rao delivering the inaugural address said, it’s an honour to Telangana, especially Hyderabad the hub of MICE, to host the 3rd Edition of South Indian Wedding Planners Congress. Out of my curiosity I googled for the best wedding destinations in India, unfortunately there is no destination in Telangana among those listed. Even the destinations mentioned under Telangana are present only in and around Telangana. During the wedding season all the resorts around Hyderabad are fully packed. There are many weddings taking place in Hyderabad, but the big fat weddings are taking place outside Telangana. My ministry is committed to changing this scenario, we want to develop many attractive wedding destinations, and want you people to join in this mission. In India, expense on destination wedding ranges between Rs 20 lakhs to several crores, Goa is ranked at the top due to its sea beaches, Telangana has similar potential despite not having a seacoast, instead we have the largest set of river side water bodies from Srisailam to Somasila and up to Nagarjuna sagar. The 160 kms stretch of river Krishna surrounded by splendid Nallamala forest with rich flora and fauna is breathtaking. In India one crore marriages are organized annually, compared to $70 bn market size in USA the Indian wedding market is estimated to be worth $50 mn. Telangana is the newest state with rich culture, historical grandeur and natural beauty, the state is a treasure trove waiting to be explored by tourists from all corners of the globe. Under the dynamic leadership of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Musi River in Telangana is going to be developed on the lines of London Thames River, with a project cost of Rs 70,000 crs. Telangana tourism’s potential remains largely untapped as a wedding destination. The State’s rich heritage adds an unparalleled charm to any wedding, every corner of Telangana is steeped in mystery, providing a perfect backdrop for a memorable wedding. Moreover, Telangana is home to plethora of stunning venues that cater to every taste and preference to facilitate an intimate ceremony. The state offers a diverse range of options to suit different budgets. Shri Alla Balaram Babu said, India and South India is not alien to massive memorable weddings, in fact the largest wedding in the most grandeur scale ever witnessed by mankind was the Srinivasa kalyanam held millions of years ago, it stands a testimony to the greatest event ever held. This is the land which witnessed the greatest and grandest weddings much before anyone could have ever imagined. Therefore, grand scale wedding is not new to Telangana and South India. Hyderabad has the largest convention spaces compared to any other place in the country. The 3rd Edition of South Indian Wedding Planners Congress – 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024 being hosted by TCEI has won global acclaim and attention and is being attended by reputed wedding planners from across India and the world. For the first time in India 16 floral designers are showcasing their talent in designing weddings. Wedding industry is 60 Bn industry, there are huge employment opportunities in the industry, as we currently have only 50% manpower as against the actual need. To encourage the youth to take up this profession, we are extending 60% discount on delegate fee for those coming from remote areas of Telangana, we are also extending scholarships to encourage fresh talent. Event industry is the biggest industry, and it will never cease to exist, even during Covid event Industry was active.

Telangana has beautiful landscapes, cliffs, back waters, which in way are less attractive destinations than the most reputed global destinations. The Government has a vision to develop Hyderabad as the most preferred wedding destination, this will in turn immensely benefit our industry members

The Event will have deliberations among industry stakeholders, to explore and implement Telangana Tourism’s plans to develop wedding destinations in special zones of Telangana like back waters of Somasila, Nagarjuna Sagar, Warangal and other attractive locations.

This Convention has received over 600 delegate registrations from Wedding Planners, Wedding Designers, Wedding Stylists, Decorators, Event Managers and all other crafts of Event Industry across India and from more than 10 Countries. Over 80 delegates from Rajasthan and over 50 from Andhra Pradesh have registered for the 2 Day convention and awards ceremony.
