Jaipur, Aug 12: Fresh monsoon showers have brought relief to several parts of Rajasthan, but the state continues to face a rainfall deficit of 10.96 per cent.

Rajasthan received around 20 mm of rainfall over the past two days, improving conditions in several areas that had been experiencing prolonged dry weather. The state has recorded 242.63 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon against the normal 272.49 mm.
Rainfall remains uneven across the state. Seven districts have received above-normal rainfall, while 18 districts have recorded normal rainfall. Another 16 districts continue to face below-normal rainfall.
The Kota and Udaipur divisions remain among the areas affected by rainfall shortages. The deficit continues to be a concern for agriculture, water availability and rural communities that depend heavily on the monsoon.
The latest showers have improved soil moisture and provided some relief to farming areas, but more widespread rainfall will be needed to significantly reduce the state's cumulative deficit.
Rajasthan had recorded 410.76 mm of rainfall during the corresponding period last year, highlighting the significant difference in monsoon performance this season.
Further rainfall in the coming days will be crucial for improving agricultural conditions, replenishing local water sources and narrowing the remaining rainfall gap.
