Rabindranath Tagore University Shooters, Vanshika and Mansi, Secure Bronze Medal at FISU World Championship 2024
Representing India in the FISU World University Championship Shooting 2024, RNTU shooters Vanshika Tiwari (BA, Second Year) and Mansi Raghuvanshi (BPES, Second Year) secured the bronze medal in the skeet team event of the shotgun category. The World University Championship Shooting was held in New Delhi, India, from November 9 to 13. This marks the first time India has hosted the prestigious FISU World University Championship Shooting, organized under the auspices of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). More than 200 athletes from 23 countries, including 8 Olympians like Privratsky Jiri from the Czech Republic, Sevval Layada Tarhan from Turkey, and Nobata Misaki from Japan, participated in the event.
Vanshika and Mansi attributed their success to their parents, academy, and university, saying, “Today, a step toward our dreams has been fulfilled, and now it’s time for the next. With the support of our academy, university, and the blessings of our parents, we will surely achieve our future goals.”
To honor their achievement in representing India and enhancing RNTU’s global reputation, the university’s Chancellor Shri Santosh Choubey, SGSU Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, Registrar Dr. Vijay Singh, and District Sports Officer of Raisen Shri Jalaj Chaturvedi extended their congratulations and best wishes to the shooters for a bright future.
