PDSE FBM, NMIMS MBA Students Discover Global Industrial Excellence in Western Europe

Mumbai, 20th Dec 2024: The students of NMIMS Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship and Family Business Management went on a 12-day International Visit to Western Europe as an initiative to expose next-gen business leaders to global best practices. Prof. Seema Mahajan, Director, PDSE&FBM, carefully planned the tour, which covered some of the best industrial and technological setups in Europe, giving the students a glimpse into the future of business, technology, and innovation.

Students from various family businesses and entrepreneurial ventures visited top international setups in Western Europe, including leading R&D hubs and manufacturing plants. Their itinerary featured institutions like IMEC, a global leader in nanoelectronics, where they learned how nanotechnology, AI, and data are transforming industries such as healthcare, agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, and energy. The group also visited Mercedes-Benz’s production plant, Nina Trans logistics solutions, Riedel Glass Factory, Schindler’s Port Innovation Lab, and Samsung Development Center, gaining firsthand experience in cutting-edge automotive engineering, logistics, and consumer electronics.

Industrial visits included the Port of Antwerp, one of Europe’s largest ports, and cultural highlights like Cristalleries du Val-Saint-Lambert for crystal artistry and Swarovski Kristallwelten Wattens, combining art with immersive experiences. The students also explored BMW’s innovative automotive design at the BMW Belt.

By visiting state-of-the-art facilities and interacting with industry leaders, the students got to gain first-hand knowledge of the latest technologies, global business strategies and the diverse entrepreneurial ecosystems of Western Europe. Besides broadening their understanding of international business landscapes, such experiences also give them practical insights and innovative approaches essential to succeed in the fast-changing global market. Exposure to the operations of various sectors like automobile, healthcare, logistics and technology has inspired the students to think out of the box and bring forward-looking strategies to their entrepreneurial ventures and family businesses.
