Danfoss India’s Power Electronics & Drives (DPD) Supply Chain marks a decade of manufacturing excellence in India, highlighting its pivotal role in optimizing energy efficiency in infrastructure projects across the nation. Since its establishment in 2014, the DPD segment has been instrumental in key projects such as the Jammu Baramulla Railway Line, India’s first underwater railway tunnel in Kolkata, Pune Airport, educational campuses like IIM and AIMS to adopt sustainable practices. These initiatives have significantly contributed to decarbonizing India’s infrastructure sector and paving the way for a greener future.
Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Supply Chain India Milestones over the Years
In 2020, they achieved a significant milestone by shipping its first 1000 pieces of drives exports to the North American Market (NAM) and supplying system drives to South East Asia (SEA).
In 2022, they successfully commissioned India’s first privately owned Energy Storage System (ESS), a landmark project in the country’s energy landscape.
In 2023, they localized the production of VLT Micro Drives FC51, VLT HVAC Drives FC101 in India, a significant achievement under the company’s localization initiative.
The Danfoss Drives Supply Chain 10-year anniversary was celebrated recently at Danfoss Chennai plant with employees, suppliers & leadership in attendance. Mika Kulju, President & Global Head of Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President – Danfoss India Region, Ranjith Raman, Director & Head of Supply Chain for Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Segment, and Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing, and Services, highlighted the team’s exceptional achievements and unwavering commitment to continuously improve manufacturing excellence.
The event also featured the unveiling of a Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Supply Chain Milestone Board to commemorate the impactful contributions of the past decade & the felicitation of veteran DPD sales colleagues who have completed 25 years in the company.

Danfoss has had Drives sales presence in the country for several decades now and that success was the encouragement for the team to commence production in India. Since its inception in 2014 with a small team of four at the Oragadam campus, Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives Supply Chain has grown exponentially to over 50 dedicated members currently, transforming it into a key global production hub for VLT Micro Drives FC51, VLT HVAC Drives FC101, VLT Enclosed Drives & Assembly of Automation Drives FC302, FC202 FC102 for Industrial, Water and HVAC&R applications.
