According to the weather department, intermittent showers are expected over the coming days, bringing relief from high temperatures while also increasing the possibility of waterlogging and traffic congestion in low-lying areas. Commuters have been urged to plan their travel accordingly, especially during peak hours.

The IMD said the city is likely to witness generally cloudy skies accompanied by periods of moderate rain and occasional thunderstorms. The rainfall is expected to help improve air quality and keep daytime temperatures below recent highs, offering a welcome respite from humid conditions.

Civic authorities have been asked to remain vigilant and ensure that drainage systems function smoothly to minimise disruptions caused by heavy showers. Residents living in flood-prone areas have also been advised to follow weather updates and take necessary precautions.

The yellow alert serves as a precautionary advisory, encouraging citizens to stay informed about changing weather conditions while avoiding unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall. Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and issue further advisories if weather conditions change.
