On June 19th, 2024, Friday, a Bharatanatyam recital titled Nayanam which is a thematic exploration of the myriad emotions and expressions conveyed through the eyes, was presented by Bharatnatyam exponent Apeksha Niranjan. The program was at the Stein Auditorium in the Indian Habitat Centre in Delhi.

With her emotive and elegant performance, Apeksha Niranjan captivated the audience. The program began with an alaripoo about the different shaped eyes of Gods. In Varnam she attempted to showcase various sentiments that are conveyed through the eyes. There was a special presentation on Polish folk music which shows a young girl expectantly waiting for her lover. This recotal had a segment on a Sur Das bhajan too, which shows the love of a bhakt for his lord.Thus this recital was all about the language of the eyes.

The audience loved her emotive performance, the theme, the way the pieces were put together and some in the audience were completely taken by the way Apeksha ji used her eyes to convey what the character was feeling. They said her bhava was so good that no other explanation of the story was required. Apeksha Niranjan is popularly known as the queen of expressions among her fans.

Prominent personalities like Chargé d’affairs to India in the Poland embassy in new delhi Sebastian Domzalski, his wife Mrs Maria Domzalski, Magdalena Filipczuk Director of Polish Institute New Delhi, , Mrs Leela Vekatraman dance critic Shrimati Manjari Sinha dance critic,Shrimati Theba Devi Head of Dance Separtment of Sangeet Natak Academy and Marie Elangovan, bhartnatyan dancer and teacher from Delh graced the occasion with their presence.
