The rally commenced from the hospital and traversed key city landmarks, with participants carrying placards encouraging women to prioritize regular breast screenings and check-ups  painting the city streets in pink with their message of hope and health.

Following the rally, the hospital inaugurated its state-of-the-art Breast Cancer Clinic, equipped with advanced imaging, screening, and diagnostic facilities. The clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons dedicated to providing personalized and timely care for patients.

Dr. Rahul S. Kanaka, Senior Consultant  Surgical & Robotic Oncology, highlighted the importance of ongoing awareness efforts, stating,

“Every year, thousands of women in India are affected by breast cancer, and many are diagnosed only after the disease has advanced. Initiatives like this rally help break the silence and stigma surrounding breast cancer. Through awareness, regular screening, and our newly launched Breast Cancer Clinic, we aim to empower women to take charge of their health.”

Dr. Neelesh Reddy, Senior Consultant  Medical Oncology, emphasized the growing concern of breast cancer among younger women, saying,

“Breast cancer is increasingly affecting younger generations in India, often with more aggressive forms. Addressing this requires a comprehensive approach that includes lifestyle awareness, genetic counseling, and improved access to screening in underserved areas. Empowering women with knowledge and support is the foundation for better outcomes.”

Dr. Rajesh V. Helavar, Senior Consultant – Interventional Radiology, spoke about the role of technology in transforming patient outcomes, noting,

“Early detection is where awareness meets action. With advanced imaging and minimally invasive diagnostic tools now available at our Breast Cancer Clinic, we can identify even the smallest abnormalities early, helping reduce anxiety, enable faster decisions, and improve recovery rates.”

Dr. Roopa S. P, Senior Consultant – Medical Oncology, underscored the importance of collective effort, adding,

“Preventive healthcare and sustained awareness campaigns are key to combating the rise of breast cancer among young Indian women. Collaboration between healthcare professionals, policymakers, and society is essential to ensure that every woman has access to early screening and timely treatment.”

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 30 women riders, all rallying to spread the message of early detection. It concluded with free breast screening and check-ups for all participants, reaffirming Manipal Hospital Yeshwanthpur’s commitment to preventive healthcare and women’s well-being.
