"While pollution control measures are absolutely necessary to safeguard public health, we must also recognise that the livelihoods of millions of workers depend on construction activities. The construction ban under GRAP-III not only halts real estate projects but also leaves thousands of daily-wage labourers without income or security.
These shutdowns delay project timelines, resulting in rising costs and homebuyers facing uncertainty. With both monsoon and pollution-related breaks disrupting work cycles, the real estate and infrastructure sectors are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain delivery schedules. We need a more balanced and sustainable approach- a mechanism where not just health but also livelihoods, timelines, etc. are protected."
