“The hike in the repo rate by 25 basis points from the side of the RBI is a well-thought move in view of rising inflationary pressures in the economy. Although there may be an increase in interest rates, we feel that its impact on the real estate market would be limited. The fundamental demand for housing in Mumbai, along with healthy economic activity and buyer sentiment, would continue to sustain the market.”

“While the 25-basis-point increase in the repo rate may marginally affect affordability, the RBI’s move, following a gap of nearly 44 months since the last hike in February 2023, is a prudent step to keep inflation in check. Given Mumbai’s resilient demand, strong fundamentals and festive season tailwinds, we do not anticipate a significant impact on housing sales."
