New Delhi, August 13: Motorica, a MedTech company focused on assistive technologies and medical cybernetics, has become an exclusive representative of TEHLIN in India. Under the partnership, Motorica will be responsible for the promotion, availability, service and support of TEHLIN’s lower-limb prosthetic solutions in the Indian market.
TEHLIN Prosthetics is a Taiwan-based manufacturer with more than 60 years of experience in developing and producing prosthetic and orthotic solutions, with a portfolio of lower-limb components. The partnership brings together Motorica’s expertise in upper-limb prosthetics and its growing network of clinical partners in India with TEHLIN’s experience in lower-limb prosthetic technologies, including knee joints, carbon feet and gel liners. For TEHLIN, Motorica provides a partner with a strong understanding of the Indian market, established relationships with clinics and the local infrastructure needed to support the brand and its products. For Motorica, the cooperation expands its portfolio beyond upper-limb prosthetics and enables the company to offer lower-limb solutions from TEHLIN as part of a broader range of prosthetic technologies.
Both companies see the cooperation as a long-term strategic alliance aimed at strengthening their presence and capabilities in the Indian market. As TEHLIN’s exclusive representative, Motorica will ensure an official channel for product access, supply, professional service and world-class support. The expanded offering allows Motorica and its partners to address a wider range of clinical needs within a single relationship, bringing together upper- and lower-limb solutions and creating a comprehensive “shoulder-to-foot” portfolio for Indian patients and healthcare professionals.
The cooperation goes beyond product distribution: from August 12 to 14, the TEHLIN team was working in India with Motorica’s partners and specialists through product presentations, professional training and hands-on sessions, complemented by clinical activities in Delhi. As part of the program, a knee joint module was fitted to a patient, while participants had the opportunity to see the entire prosthetic fitting and fine-tuning process firsthand — from component selection to final alignment and adjustment. This hands-on experience highlighted the practical value of the partnership, combining advanced prosthetic technologies with local clinical expertise and professional support.
Since 2021, Motorica has been conducting innovative research aimed at restoring sensory perception in amputees and reducing phantom pain. This technology involves stimulation of the peripheral nervous system through implanted electrodes in patients' limbs. Currently, participants using the prototype of the new prostheses can distinguish between hard and soft objects, as well as determine their size.
