Gurgaon- KIIT World School organized a special assembly to honor Nelson Mandela International Day, celebrating the legacy of the great worldwide leader and human rights activist. Students and staff actively participated in the event, gathering to consider the values of justice, freedom, and peace that Mandela promoted.
The assembly began with a significant tribute to Nelson Mandela, reflecting his incredible life story from freedom fighter to South Africa’s first black president. Various types of speeches, skits, and musical performances were performed by the students, all of which highlighted Mandela’s strong support for equality and his ongoing influence on society.
The principal of KIIT World School, Dr. Neelima Kamrah, shared a motivational speech with the students, highlighting the importance of Nelson Mandela’s lessons in the modern world. “The life of Nelson Mandela serves as an example of the strength of determination, empathy, and the firm search for justice. His legacy serves as a reminder that we are all capable of changing the world. We aim to teach these principles to our students, motivating them to be engaged global citizens who make meaningful contributions to society.”
The event also included a community service project in which students and faculty participated in a variety of activities to give back to the local community. These projects, which represented Mandela’s faith in the universal principle of “I am because we are,” included everything from cleaning up neighborhood parks to giving educational materials to needy children. In addition to honoring the memories of a great leader, KIIT School’s Nelson Mandela Day event encouraged students to uphold his ideals and carry on his aim of bringing about a more just and equal society.
