Hence, to break the vicious intergenerational cycle of undernutrition, it is imperative that we address this gendered aspect of access to nutrition. A community-based intervention can play a pivotal role in spreading awareness and promoting behavioural change amongst the adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, and women in the reproductive age group. We have seen its benefits, not only in terms of improvement of nutritional status and better uptake of Government schemes but also in the overall well-being, decision making skills and confidence of women.”
